The Royal College of Nursing (RCN), the largest nursing union globally with a membership of nearly 600,000 healthcare professionals across the United Kingdom, has formally terminated all commercial ties with Teva UK, the regional subsidiary of Israeli pharmaceutical giant Teva — the world’s largest producer of generic medications. The decision came in response to sustained grassroots campaigning by two pro-Palestine healthcare advocacy groups, Nurses for Palestine and UK Healthcare Petitions to Royal Colleges (UKHPRC), which spent months pushing the union leadership to cut the corporate partnership.
