Italy enacts AI law covering privacy, oversight and child access

Italy has become the first European Union nation to enact a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) law, aligning with the EU’s landmark AI Act. Approved by the Italian parliament on Wednesday, the legislation, championed by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government, establishes human-centric, transparent, and safe AI use as its guiding principles.
