Beijing launches month-long New Year cultural season

Beijing has inaugurated an extensive cultural program titled ‘With You in Beijing’ to celebrate the 2026 New Year, offering a diverse array of activities spanning performances, markets, and digital engagements. The month-long event, which commenced on Wednesday, will continue through March 3, providing both residents and visitors with an enriched holiday experience.

Organized by the Capital Culture and Technology Group, the initiative encompasses multiple venues across the city, including commercial districts, local communities, and transportation hubs. The program is designed to create an integrated ‘one-stop’ service scenario that merges culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions.

A key feature of the cultural season is its emphasis on accessibility and immersion. Attendees can participate in traditional cultural workshops, public-space events, and online activities, ensuring a holistic and engaging celebration. The inclusion of digital experiences highlights Beijing’s commitment to blending technology with cultural preservation.

The expansion of events into surrounding communities aims to foster a sense of unity and shared celebration, reinforcing the city’s dedication to promoting cultural inclusivity and public engagement during the festive period.
